Edgar C. Showers, 85, Orrtanna R.1, died Monday morning at Michael Manor, Gettysburg.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Adams County, he was the son of the late Rueben W. & Katie (Bishop) Showers.
He was retired after being employed for more than 40 years at the C.H. Musselman Co., Pet Milk Inc. He was a member of the Upper Bermudian Lutheran Church. His 1st wife, the former Ruth Wingert, died in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mabel F. Stoner; 3 daughters, Mrs. Howard Sandoe of North Bend; Mrs. Richard Helm of Biglerville R.1; & Rosella Miller of Gettysburg; 3 sons, William Showers of Harvard, Ill.; Dale Showers of Biglerville R.1; & Joseph Showers of Bendersville; 3 sisters, Pearl Bream of Carlisle; Minnie Cooley of Idaville; & Dora Pyles of Arendtsville; 1 stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles Beasley of Gettysburg; 3 stepsons: Clarence Williams of Harrisburg, Sidney Williams of Orrtanna R.1, and Steve Williams of New Oxford; 15 grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; & 7 greatgreatgrand-children,
Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday from the Dugan Funeral Home in Bendersville, with the Rev. Kenenth Swick officiating.
Interment will be in Upper Bermudian Church Cemetery
