Bro. Bickmore was born in St. George, Me., June 26, 1836, and died suddenly by the roadside in Windsor, Me., May 18, 1893.
For several years Bro. Bickmore had a trouble with his heart, but had been able to attend to his regular work, by exercising care. For the two months previous to his death he thought he was improving but was suddenly called home. He was converted at eighteen years of age, and soon felt it his duty to preach. He shrunk from this call but after a few years yielded to the will of his God. For nearly twenty- five years he has given his entire time to the work. His appointments were North Waldoboro, Cross Hill, Arrowsic, Westport, Deer Isle, Windsor and South Thomaston. On nearly all of his appointments he served a full term. He was appointed to North Waldoboro two terms and was beginning the second year of his second pastorate at Windsor at the time of his death. Faithful and earnest in his work he was beloved by all. Many on all his charges were led by him to Christ. He is sincerely mourned and will be greatly missed by his people. We shall ever remember him as an earnest, sweet spirited Christian. His works praise him. He leaves a wife and two sons to mourn his loss. We bespeak for them the prayers of the church.
