Gabriel Parley Coley was born in the state of California Nov. 23, 1857. Died at his home near Jennings, Okla. March 8th, 1922. Age 61 years 3 months and 13 days.

He came with his parents to Joplin, Mo. when but a boy of fifteen years, where he grew to manhood He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Childers, May 29, 1877. To this union three children were born, two girls and a boy. The son preceded his father to the better land in 1902.

They lived at Joplin until the opening of the Cherokee strip in 1893 at which time they settled on a claim near Jennings, Okla., and resided here ever since. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. G P Coley, two daughters, Mrs. Winnie Clay of Coweta, Okla., and Mrs. Nona Childers of Palm Beach, Fla., and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his demise.

The remains were shipped to Joplin, Mo. Sunday night where the funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the chapel. Interment was made at Fairview cemetery by the side of his son.
