He received his schooling at St Joseph Church School at Neier.
From 1944 to 1946, he served his country in the US Army, serving in central Europe for over a year.
On May 7, 1949, he was united in marriage to Miss Marcella Klenke at the Immaculate Conception church in Union. Mr Bolzenius had been employed by the Middlewest Freight Line company of St Louis for over 35 years. He was a member of the St Joseph Church and the Cattleman's Association.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Bolzenius, in 1990, and also by two brothers, Joseph and Louis Bolzenius.
Those who survive are his wife Sally Bolzenius of Beaufort; three daughters, Virginia Sieve and husband Gary of Union, Bonnie Birke and husband Richard of Beaufort, and Debbie Clavenna and husband Dave of Union; four soons, Richard Bolzenius and wife Judy, Donald and wife Lisa, James and wife Marcella, all of Union, and Paul Bolzenius of Beaufort; 12 grandchildren and one sister, Marion Wroblewski of St Louis.
funeral services were held on June 14 from the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union with funeral Mass from St Joseph Church at Neier by Rev Gerald Simpson. Interment followed in the St Joseph Cemetery.
