Alda L. (Schrecengost) Beighley, 86, of Washington Township, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She had been a resident of Ark Twin Valley Personal Care Home, Delmont, for the last year. She was born March 13, 1923, in Wayne Township, Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Marcus and Ida (Cogley) Schrecengost. She was a homemaker and lived in Washington Township for most of her life. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Murrysville, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Washington Township Fire Company. She enjoyed traveling, camping and helping others. She was a graduate of Washington Township High School. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Beighley, in 1993; brother, Carl Schrecengost; and two sisters, Alice Carlson and Erma Deane Glendenning. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth B. (Pam) Beighley, of Washington Township, and Keith A. (Claire) Beighley, of New Cumberland, Pa.; a sister, Lois Flick, of Washington Township; and several nieces and nephews. At the request of Alda, the viewing and services will be private and held in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME, Apollo, PA. The Rev. Kenneth Chorle officiating.
Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
