Son of Charles M and and his 1st wife Gladys Conkling Sommerville. Charles M. jr was born in Georgetown while his father Charles M. sr. was re-couperating from wounds received at the battle of the Argonne Forrest in World War I. The photo at right was taken in the garden of Charles grandparents, Mr & Mrs Frederick Noel Sommerville. Charles M. jr, enlisted on March 3, 1944.
