He was born in Nebraska and came to Salem as an infant. He was a logger and cement finisher before retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Fruitland Evangelical Church of North America.
Survivors include his wife, Manda; daughters Lila Webberley of Trout Lake, Wash., and Beatrice Ann Schewey of Hood River.
