Mrs. J. W. Burleson, 80, one of Travis County's most respected pioneers, died at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the family home near Webberville, where she has lived since 1862. Before her marriage in Sept 1866, Mrs. Burleson was Miss Fannie Browning. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Maggie Burleson; two sons, Clarence S Burleson and John O Burleson, all of Webberville neighborhood; one brother Judge W. H. Browning of Lampasas.
Funeral services and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the family cemetery at Rogers Hill, seven miles east of Austin on the Webberville Road. Dr. Leon Latimer and the Rev. J. M. Earls will officiate.
Pallbearers will be H. L. Manor, Mortimer Deats, Dr. W. E. McCaleb, Carl McEachern, Sam Glass and Earnest Robertson.
