John G. Slater was born December 28, 1825 the son of Mary Burnsed Slater and William Slater, and his wife was Susan Cone Slater. John and Susan are buried next to each other at Old Fellowship Cemetery, near Ivanhoe (Briar Patch), Bulloch County, Georgia. The twelve children of John G. Slater and Susan Cone Slater were Mary "Molly" A. Slater Smith, Martha "Mattie" A. Slater Crumley, Emma Susan Slater, Ida Slater Heidt, John E. Slater, James C. Slater, Alice Slater, Walter Arthur Slater, Thrza E. Slater, Ella L. Slater, Brantly Slater, and Missie Slater. John G. Slater was 64 when he died on April 24, 1890. I hope one of his descendants will add his photo to this site.
