Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Delaware Co. before moving to Williamstown 50 years ago.
Mr. McDevitt retired in 1982 from the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard where he worked many years as a shipfitter.
Beloved husband of the late Mary C. (nee Dougherty). Also predeceased by his son, Kevin J. McDevitt, and his grandson, Robert Leitenberger. He is survived by four children, William (Mary) McDevitt Jr. of Williamstown, Bernard (Darlene) McDevitt of Elmer, Eileen (William) Adamonis of Washington Twp., and Donna (Thomas) Bland of Dennisville; one sister, Helen Fanelli of Drexel Hill, PA; ten grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
