Mrs. Freda Olive Locke of Maddensville died Sunday, December 29, 1963, at 6:25 p.m. in the Fulton County Medical Center at McConnellsburg. She had been seriously ill for five months prior to her death. She was born August 15, 1894 in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, a daughter of Harry and Fannie (Cutshall) Ashton. She was married to Ewell Locke of Maddensville and he preceded her in death in September of 1935. Surviving are four children: Mrs. Judson (Eleanor) Deshong of Fairless Hills; Mrs. Wayne (Irene) Park of Orbisonia Rd; Henry Locke, of Ardmore and George Locke, Monroeville, OK. There are six grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Phyllis English of Harrisburg Mrs. Locke was a member of the Walnut Grove Church of God of Maddensville. She had served as postmistress at Maddensville from 1935 until June 11 of 1963. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2 at 2 p. m. from the Walnut Grove Church of God at Maddensville. The Rev. Paul S. Kibler, pastor of her church will officiate. Interment will be made in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends are being received at the Ott funeral home in Orbisonia until 11 a.m. on Thursday and at the church until the hour for the services.
