ROBERT LUTKE
Robert Lutke, founder of the Lutke Showcase Manufacturing Company and a resident of Portland for 47 years, died yesterday at the age of 78 at his home, 301 North Twenty-fourth street. He had been ill several weeks with heart disease.
The manufacturing concern which Mr. Lutke started in 1883 operated successfully under his name until 1920 when he sold out to the Grand Rapids Showcase Company and retired. Mr. Lutke was a 33d-degree Scottish Rite Mason and was the treasurer for several years recently of Al Kader Shrine temple. He also was a past master of Harmony Masonic lodge and a member of the Portland lodge of Elks. Mr. Lutke's only child, a daughter, Ida, died in childhood in 1891, and his first wife, Marguerite, died in 1912. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Fannie J. Lutke and a half-brother, Edward L Gomoil of Portland and other relatives in the east.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Oregon commandery of Scottish Rite catheredral. Arrangements had not been completed yesterday.
