Obituary:
APPLEBY - June 5, 1889, in Dublin township, Mrs. Ann Eliza Appleby, wife of Mr. Alexander Appleby. the deceased was born January 14, 1823, and was in her 67th year. She was for more than forty-five years a consistent member of the Shade Gap Presbyterian church and died in the hope of a blessed immortality. A kind neighbor, a tender mother and a loving wife, she had won for herself the first place in many hearts, and leaves a husband and children more desolate that words can express. Yet we sorror not as those who have no hope for "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord." She rests from her labor and her works do follow her.
