ABELARDO E. PEA July 1, 1923 - October 23, 2006 passed away peacefully at home. A Resident of Fremont since 1963, he was born in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua MX and moved to the United States in 1945. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Emma (Perla) and his children Liz, Jim, and Anna, son-in-law Kurt, daughter-in-law Stephanie, three grandchildren; Christopher, Andres, and Alexandria, brother Ruben, sister Dora, and several nieces and nephews. Dad was a member of UFCW Local 428 for nearly 30 years before retiring in 1985. In his retirement he enjoyed working in his garden, cooking, attending activities at the Warm Springs senior center, and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service celebrating his life on Saturday, November 25th at 2:00pm at the Cabana Club in Warm Springs, Fremont. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northern California at http://www.alznorcal.org/index.asp.
