Memorial. 2nd Lt Biddle's father, Captain Henry Jonathan Biddle, was killed during the Civil War at the Battle of Market Crossroads in 1862. Biddle graduated from Princeton University in June 1875 and was commissioned a 2nd Lt. On August 31, 1876, Biddle was assigned to Company K, 7th US Cavalry as a replacement for the loss of so many officers at the Battle of the Little Big Horn. Biddle was killed during a charge toward Chief Joseph's village on Snake Creek. His name is on a memorial for soldiers who died at the battle.
