SAM DOOM

A former resident of Congress and well-known man in the Wickenburg area, Sam Doom passed away at home in his native Kentucky, July 4, 1974.

Mr. Doom was born April 23, 1902 in Kuttawa, Kentucky. He went to St. Louis, Mo., in 1923, where he stayed until coming to Arizona in the late 1930's residing in Phoenix.

In 1940, he married the local Esther Deck and their marriage produced six children. The family migrated north to Congress in 1950 where he owned and operated the Chevron Station for 15 years. Due to failing health he returned to his home town to retire in 1965.

Sam is survived by his widow, Esther, 5 sons, Daniel, High School Teacher here in Wickenburg, Sammy, Dennis and Robert of Phoenix, and Donnie of Kuttawa, Kentucky, and one daughter Lottie Lopez of Phoenix, and 4 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Grace of Houston, Texas, and a brother Robert of Phoenix.

Services and burial were held Saturday, July 6 in Kuttawa, Kentucky.
