Mrs. Walter Hardee Rites Aug. 29
Mrs. Walter Hardee passed away Saturday, August 26 at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Norris. Her death came suddenly after a prolonged illness.
Funeral services were held at the Shum-Novinger Funeral Service, Tuesday afternoon, August 29. Rev. Walter Ortmann officiated. Burial was in the Bedford cemetery.
Amy Gertrude Hays, daughter of Thomas [Riley] Hays and Martha [Ann Booher] Hays, and youngest of eight children, was born at New Market Iowa, September 19, 1888 and died at the age of 72 years, 11 months, seven days.
She was married on December 11, 1907 to Walter Thomas Hardee. To them, were born three daughters and a son, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Dorman Young of Siam, Mrs. Gerald Norris of Bedford, Mrs. Charles Sparks of Omaha, Truman Marion Hardee of Red Oak. There are 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Hardee died April 4, 1956.
Mr. and Mrs. Hardee became members of the Free Methodist church in Nodaway, Iowa, in 1936.
