Services for Benjamin E Brooks, 86, retired manager of Brooks Loan Co., and a former Justice Of The Peace, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Kenneth Smith will officite.Burial will be in Falls Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. Brooks died in Wabash County Hospital Wednesday evening after three weeks of illness.
He was a resident of 147 Pike and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Elks Club.He belonged to the Elks for 50 years
Mr. Brooks was born in Augusta County, Va., Dec. 25, 1882, to Richard G. and Elizabeth (Kennedy) Brooks. He came to Wabash from Virginia in 1903.
He married Cecil Adair in 1912 and she died in 1943.His marriage to Mrs. Mary Frances Burwell occured Oct. 14, 1951,and she survives.
Also surviving are the three children, Mrs. Helen Crenshaw,Wabash, Robert R.,Davenport,IA.,and Mrs. Darell W. Tibbets, Eau Gallie, FL.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert Federspiel, Orland, Ca., and Mrs. Clayton Jesiger, Winter Haven, FL.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandhild; eight stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services for Benjamin Brooks took place Saturday afternoon in the Jones Funeral Home with the Rev.Kenneth Smith officating. Mrs. Robert Lake was Organist.
Serving as pallbears were James,harles,John, and Benjamin Brooks, Robert Ferrie and Woodrow Drook. Burial was in Falls Cemetery.
