Death Claims Nilena A Babb
Mrs Nilena A Babb, 3313 East Fourteenth, died Tuesday evening at the home of a daughter, Mrs C E Beaman, Texhoma, Okla, where she had been visiting for the past two months. Mrs Babb was born August 14, 1865, in Milton [sic], Iowa, and was married to M P Babb at Winfield, Kas, in 1885. Mr and Mrs Babb moved to Wichita in February of 1913. He preceded her in death three years ago.
-Mrs Babb was active in church work and had been a member of the Central Christian Church since 1914. She taught the Loyal Daughters class there for 27 years. She was a life member of the Ivy Leaf chapter of OES and a member of the affiliated past-matrons club.
-Survivors besides Mrs Beaman include two other daughters, Miss Nola Babb of the home, and Mrs M E Rowland of University City, Mo; two sons, George S Babb, 247 South Kansas, and Austin Babb of California; three sisters, Mrs Grace Clark, Mrs Ed Garrett and Mrs Homer Bare, all of Douglass, Kas; four brothers, David Farnsworth, Bristol, Tenn.; Howard and Oscar Farnsworth, Douglass, Kas, and Clarence Farnsworth, Hoisington, Kas; a niece, Grace Farnsworth of the home; three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the Byrd-Snodgrass Funeral home Friday at 10 am The Rev Allen W Lee of the Hillside Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery.
