Earthly Cares End For Mrs Danskin-A resident of the Marengo community for 60 years, Mrs Edith Danskin, 81, died at her home in this city Tuesday morning. Death was caused by a heart attack, which she suffered the previous morning. She had prior to that time been in her usual good health.
Daughter of a Methodist minister Mrs Danskin was born in Nashua, Jan 15, 1864. Her parents were the Rev. Tom and Agnes Bigger.
On Nov 29, 1883, she was married to George W. Danskin. They came shortly to Iowa Co. and made their home on a Sumner Twsp farm. Some years later, they erected the home that stands at the intersection of Highways No. 6 and No. 212 and moved to town, returning to the farm in 1903.
In 1921, Mr and Mrs Danskin went to California. It was there that the husband passed away Dec 30, 1928. Mrs Danskin returned soon to Marengo to reside.
Among those who are bereaved by Mrs Danskin's unexpected death are three sons, Ralph, Carl and Robert of Marengo; two sisters, Mrs Ted Grand of Toronto, Canada, and Mrs Rena Adams of Sleepy Eye, MN; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Four sons, Harry, Fred and James and an infant son who died at birth, and one great grandchild preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Harrison Funeral Home at 2 PM Saturday. Interment will be in the Ladora Cemetery.
