Sarah Hunt, mother of Commadore and several other children with her husband Eri Hunt, was a Rossel; the daughter of Jesse Rossel and his wife Rhodia Paddock Rossel. Sarah had two sisters Mary and Letha Rossel who both also married Hunts. They had one brother Jonathan Rosel who married Eliza Jane LeForge, then Cynthia Ann Frakes and thirdly Rebecca Garrison. He joined the Union Army and died in March 1863 in Nashville, Tennessee and is buried in the National Cemetery there.
