Ray J. Ary, 71, a long -time resident of Midwest City, passed away at Lake Texoma. Ray was born May 15, 1921 in Muncie, Indiana and was raised in Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the ETO. During the war, he received one Silver Service Star, one Bronze Service Star and a Purple Heart. He also received the American Defense Service Ribbon, the EAME Service Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. Following the war, Ray entered the U.S. Air Force where he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1962. Following his military service, he worked as a Civil Service employee at Tinker AFB until his retirement in 1990.

Ray is survived by his wife, the former Wilda A. Sparkman of Midwest City; his mother, Margaret H. Boney of Sayre; three sons, Dennis E. of Thornton, Co., Raymond J. of Yukon, Richard F. of Midwest City; and six grandchildren.
