FUNERAL RITES HELD FOR MILLARD COUNTY PIONEER
Adeline Hardy Robison

Funeral services were held in the Fillmore Ward Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, for Adeline Hardy Robison, who died at her home here Sunday of complications following the flu. The deceased was 90 years old, having been born December 8, 1846 at Nauvoo, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy Blanding Hardy. Several years later the family settled in St. Charles, Idaho and subsequently came to Utah. Mrs. Robison had been a resident of Millard County for more than 80 years. It was in Fillmore that she met her husband Charles Robison, who died 26 years ago. She was a faithful Latter-Day Saint throughout her long span of life.

Besides rearing a large family of her own, she was also mother to a foster son, Lafe Hallet, whose own mother died when he was an infant. And when Mr. Hallet's wife died leaving him with an infant son, she took the babe into her home and gave to him the same loving care that she had given his father and her own children. She was a tireless worker, insisting on looking after her own home, almost up until the time of her last illness.

She is survived by the following sons and daughters: J.H. Robison, Pleasant Grove; Bert Robison, Kanosh; Delbert Robison, Sevier; Mrs. Rosetta Bridges, Fillmore; and the foster son, Lafe Hallet. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. May Lachapell, Salt Lake City, 30 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

The speakers at the services were Roy Olpin, Fillmore; Ted Black and A.A. Kimball, Kanosh and closing remarks by Bishop Lorenzo Brunson, who also conducted the services. The opening prayer was offered by Frank Robison and the benediction was pronounced by Peter L. Brunson.

The choir sang, "Rock of Ages". Mrs. Edna Day sang a solo "End of a Perfect Day". Helen Rogers of Kanosh sang "Face to Face" and Marilyn Brunson sang "One Fleeting Hour". Burial was in the Kanosh cemetery where Sam Utley dedicated the grave. Mrs. Robison's grandsons acted as pallbearers. Many people attended the services from Kanosh and Hatton as well as Fillmore. Her three sons were here from Pleasant Grove, Kanosh and Sevier; they were accompanied by their families.
