Richard Roland Allen, 54, of 874 37th, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1984, at the Mckay-Dee Hospital of a lingering illness.

He was born April 1, 1929, in bothwell, a son of robert Roland and Amy Andersen Allen.

On Nov. 16, 1951, he married Joan Jenkins in the Logan LDS Temple.

He was a member of the Ogden 37th LDS Ward, where he was a high priest.

He had served as ward clerk and as a home teacher. He had served a mission to the Central States from 1948 to 1949.

He was reared and educated in Tremonton, graduating from Bear River High School.

He had worked at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years as a welder and also as a welder forelman.

Surviving are his widow of Ogden; four sons and two daughters; Stephen R. Allen, Bloomington, Indiana; Kim R. Allen, Brian M. Allen and Darin L. Allen, Lynette Allen and Lisa Allen, all of Ogden and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are his mother of Tremonton, three brothers and four sisters; Ted Allen and Darwin Allen of Tremonton; Clair Allen, Hyde park; Mrs. Ray (Carol) Sorensen, Howell; Mrs. Sheldon (Janiel) Christensen, West Valley City; Mrs. Norman (Velva Lee) Rose, Tremonton; Mrs. Richard (Clyda) Lindsey of Spanish Fork.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Flowers Mortuary with Bishop's Counselor David Larkin of the Ogden 37th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to services.

Interment in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
