DEATHS
Mrs. Katie J. McFerrin, aged 32 years, wife of Mr. J. C. McFerrin and daughter of Mr. H. S. McCalla, died in Fayetteville at the family residence on Wednesday, August 19, 1914. No woman ever laid down her burden of life more generally lamented; as a daughter she was always loving and obedient, as a wife devoted and affectionate, as a friend constant, sincere and self-sacrificing. For years she had been a member of the A. R. P. Church; upon the temple of her being was erected the spire of faith pointing eternally upward, so that we know it was well with her soul. The home to which she has gone was made by the same God who fashioned this world, and as there is love and beauty here, we know there is love and beauty there. On the other shore she awaits under the shade of the trees the coming of her loved ones. After funeral services by Rev. J. B. Edwards, the remains were laid by reverential hand in the Prosperity Cemetery to await the resurrection morn. She is survived by her husband, father, two brothers and one sister.
