Alma Rokohl Zamzow

Alma Rokohl Zamzow, age 95 of Three Rivers died on May 11, 2009. She was born on July 1, 1913 to Robert Rokohl and Hermine Stridde Rokohl in the Ottine Community, Gonzales County. She was married to Otto Wilhelm Zamzow on Oct. 15, 1936 in Ray Point. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church of Three Rivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant son, Harvey Lee Zamzow; a brother, Edward Rohohl, sisters, Hattie Rokohl Magel and Adela Braune Wernli and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Zamzow.

She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Carroll) Retzloff of Peggy; Geraldine (Jerry) Retzloff of Ray Point; Karen (Paul) Brysch of Karnes City; five sons, Allan (Opal) Zamzow of Three Rivers; Lawrence (Mary) Zamzow of Three Rivers; David Zamzow of Three Rivers; Norman Zamzow of Three Rivers and Calvin (Marsha) of La Perle, 24 grandchildren and 36 great grandchilren.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday)at Galloway and Sons Funeral Home of Three Rivers from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Sulaica, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Ray Point Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Zamzow, John Zamzow, Terry Retzloff, Jason Retzloff, Jeffrey Zamzow, Phillip Zamzow, Wesley Zamzow and Blaise Kopecki. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
