Edgar Snelson, 76, died in a Wenatchee hospital Sunday morning.


He was born April 16, 1889, in Genoa, Neb. On June 13, 1930, he married Helen Hansen at Newport. In 1943 they moved to Cashmere, later moving to California in 1959, and returning to Cashmere in 1972.


Surviving are his wife, Helen, at home; three daughters, Berniece Johnson, Cashmere, Dorothy Douglas, Pomeroy and Viola Bowers, Spokane; two brothers, Paul Snelson, Cashmere, and Herman Snelson, Santa Rosa, four sisters, Katie Wayburn, Cashmere, Pearl Conner, Spokane, Esther Wernecke, Pomeroy, and Eunice Prentice, Clarkston; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.


Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the Braun Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harry Garrison officiating. Mrs. John MacPherson sang "In the Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" with Earl Barnes on the organ. Burial took place in the Cashmere Cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers, Glen Hansen, Edgar Lester, Bob Davis, Bobby Joe Newton, Delbert Snelson and Ronald Snelson.

The Braun Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
