James R. Blake of Bradenton, FL, died Thursday, October 16, 2003, at the Braden River Nursing Home in Bradenton, FL. Born on August 8, 1940, in Cloverport, KY, he was the son of George Riley and Rosella (Holmes) Blake.

Surviving are four daughters: Fonda Sue Schwindt of Winslow, IN, Cynthia Ann Jarrett of Mitchell, IN, Brooke Cheyenne Blake of Orange County, IN, and Peggy Jo Blake of Georgia; one son, James Riley Blake, Jr. of Washington; his father, George R. Blake of Bedford, IN; two sisters, Georgette M. Davis of Bedford, IN, and Ann Dotts of Mitchell, IN; three brothers: Guy Blake of Mitchell, IN, Henry Blake of Oolitic, IN, and Joe Blake of Sparksville, IN; and five grandchildren.

He was employed at Tropicana Company and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

There will be graveside services for James Blake at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20th, at Connerley Switch Cemetery in Mitchell.
