Will Study Details of Fatal Crash
Details of the traffic crash which caused the death of Miss Sara Gray Goodwin, 23, of 1278 Dellwood, will go to the attorney general's office and the Shelby County Grand Jury for consideration of possible charges deputies said today.
Curtis Hill, 24 of 1688 Carruthers, driver of the car in which Miss Goodwin was riding, received multiple injuries when his car hit a tree at Brooks and Mill Branch Roads about 1 a.m. Saturday, Said Capt. Aubrey Floyd. He was reported in fair condition today at Baptist Hospital.
Miss Goodwin died Saturday night at John Gaston Hospital
Officers estimated Hill's speed at 65 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Miss Goodwin was born at Erin, Tenn, and moved to Memphis as a child. She was a Frayser High Schoolgraduate and had worked for the past five years at First National Bank. She was a member of Frayser Baptist Church.
She leaves her mother, Mrs. Woodie E. Cooper of the Dellwood address; her father Walter A Goodwin of Arlington, a twin brother, Sidney, of Erin, and another brother, Bobby W. Goodwin, of 1682 Combs; and her grandmothers, Mrs. Emma Gray of Erin and Mrs. Ruby Goodwin of Nashville.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Memphis Funeral Home, Burial in Arlington Cemetery, Erin.
