Glenn served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was in the grocery business for many years, retiring in 1979 as a vice-president of Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. He also toured the Midwest as owner and drummer of a twelve-piece band. Glenn was a Mason and enjoyed membership in several Masonic groups. He served as an elder with the Covenant Presbyterian Church at Springfield and was also a charter member of Village Presbyterian Church of Prairie Village, KS.
