Funeral services for Rodney Finnell, 77, retired farmer near Canute who died at his home Wednesday will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at Port with Rev. L. D. Hawkins Methodist minister of Canute officiating.
Mr. Finnell, a pioneer in this section came to Washita county 31 years ago. His death terminated an illness of about two years.
The aged man was born in Clark county, Kentucky, January 10, 1855. He was married in Clark county December 18 1874 to Miss Tracie Parrish. Mrs. Finnell died several years ago.
Mr. Finnell is survived by three daughters and two sons. Two sons and a daughter living near Canute are Clarence Finnell, Fount Finnell, and Meggie Mitchum. Others are Mrs. Pearl Gates, of Boyd and Nettie Cecil, of California.
Burial was made in the Port cemetery. Grubitz and Son Funeral directors of this city were in charge.
