Arland Hope Winter Locke Cooper moved to the Cottage Grove area, in 1945.
She and her husband had gone to California, to attend the funeral of her brother in law, Ernie. She lost her life when their van crashed about 50 miles northwest of Sacramento as they were on their way back to Oregon. Her husband survived, the accident, but passed away five days later.
She was survived by sons, Norman Locke and Verl Locke; daughters,Carol Ann McCaine, Kathy Kettleson and Margaret Stone.
