Martha "Patsey" Spivey was the 2nd of 12 children born to James Spivey and Mary Johnstone. She married Andrew Jackson Thomas in Owsley Co., KY. Both she and her husband are buried in this cemetery.

"She came to raise our hearts to Heaven, she has gone to call us their".
Mossville Cemetery, located at Mossville, AR. Vincent and Andrew Jackson Thomasand their family moved from Kentucky before 1852 to Indiana, then to Mousouri
then to Arkansas in about 1857.

Per notes of William Thomas of Washingtion, on a visit to Carey [Thomas] Spencer states that when she was a little girl that she ask Martha Patsey Spivey how she met her husband Jackson Thomas, she said that she was an Orphan
and that she used to do housework for Betsey Thomas, Jackson mother. This may be true, but her father had child in 1854 by his second wife, Martha would have been 22 years old at that time, and she marred at 19 yearsold. So how could she be and Orphan at 22 years old and married with two
children of her own. Martha's head stone reads "She came to raise our hearts to Heaven, she has gone to call us their".
