Geraldine Marie Bland Starcher, 95, of Parkersburg, WV died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg. She was born in Bull River, WV, a daughter of the late Harvey and Martha Jane Ball Bland.

She was the former owner and operator of Starcher's Grocery Store and Service Station in Pleasant Hill, WV and was a member of the Chapel Baptist Church in Nobe, WV.

She is survived by four daughters, Janet Ramona Holliday and her husband, John, of Newark, OH, Phyllis L. Fetty and her husband, Patrick, of Sweet Springs, WV, Roberta R. McCoy and her husband, Jim, of Smithville, WV and Beverly Ann Prince and her husband, Bill, of Smithville, WV; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alton Starcher; a daughter, Carolyn J. Starcher; a grandson, James C. McCoy; two brothers; and one sister.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg, WV with the Reverend Gene Hutton officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Baptist Church cemetery in Nobe, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
