Stella Dyer Carter, 93, of Hewitt, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at The Courtyard of Hewitt. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. B.G. Polk officiating. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
Stella was born in Lewisville, Texas. She moved to Hewitt, in 1998, where she enjoyed her family and gardening. She served as Treasurer for Plainview Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Carter Sr.; and a son, R. A. Carter Jr.
She is survived by sons, Royce E. Carter and wife, Vera Lee, of Van Alstyne, and Randy D. Carter, of Hewitt; daughter, Lynda K. Walker and husband, Larry, of Hewitt; daughter-in-law, Retha Carter; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, L.B. Dyer; and many other family members and friends.
