David Lee Allen Sr., 76, of Roanoke, VA, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Spence Allen and grandson, Zach Allen. He is survived by his daughter, Michele Lester, son-in-law, Jay and their daughter, Ellen, of Christiansburg, VA; his son, David Lee Allen Jr. & daughter-in-law, Amy, of Salem, VA; and his son, Jeff Allen, daughter-in-law, Tina, and their children, Josh and Talley, of Salem, VA. He is also survived by his sister, Agnes Kirk; and a dear friend, Billie Fleming. The family will receive friends Monday, June 15, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Va. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, Va. The Rev. Eugene Mills will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, VA.
