Malad - Elizabeth (Bessie) Sarah Waylett Jones, 87, died Sunday in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City of a heart attack.
She was born Sept. 14, 1889 at Malad to Rees and Mary Williams Waylett. She married James B. Jones Oct. 10, 1910 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 26, 1976.
Being an active member of the LDS Church, she served many years as the Relief Society president, was president of the Primary Stake Board, and taught in all the church auxiliaries. She was a school teacher, and a member of the Ladies Literary Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Laurel) Fifield and Miss Jennie Bea Jones, both of Whittier, Calif., Mrs. Mabel Thomason of Anaheim, Calif., and Roland (Nada) Jones, Malad; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three half brothers and one half sister, David L. Bush, Boise, Warren Bush, Malad, Jay C. Bush, Brigham City, Utah, and Mrs. Delilah Larsen, Ogden.
Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday in the Malad Third LDS Ward chapel with Bishop Phil Gillies officiating. Friends may call at Benson Funeral Home Wednesday evening and on Thursday before services.
Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery with funeral arrangements by Benson Funeral Home.
