Mrs. Myrtle Guy Gentry, 88, of Boone, died Sunday morning, Sept. 21, 2003, at Watauga Medical Center.


She was born Sept. 25, 1914 in Avery County, to Garfield and Nancy Jane Mitchell Guy. Mrs. Gentry was a member of the First Christian Church of Mountain City, Tenn., and was a homemaker.


Survivors include two daughters, one daughter-in-law, eleven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Reece; her second husband, Lewis Gentry; one son, Doug Reece; and one daughter, Lorena Waddell.


Services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Bill Warren and the Rev. Quincy Norris. Burial will follow in the Beech Valley Cemetery.


Austin & Barnes Funeral Home is serving the Gentry family.
