Elizabeth Goodwin Sale, 86, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2009.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Linday Sale Tinney. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack Sale; her children, Shannon Sale Ryan and husband, Rick, and Karla Sale Ogden and husband, Dan; five grandchildren, Devin Sale Ryan-Thiel and husband, John, Carey Sale Ryan, Logan Sale Ryan, Daniel Cameron Ogden and Hunter Charles Ogden; sister, Winnie Goodwin Gordon; also several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Sale was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, a Hanover County school teacher for 29 years, a graduate of Longwood College, a member of the Virginia YMCA Board, ADK International Teachers Sorority, the American Cancer Society and Pamunkey Womens Club.
Family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 12 at the Mechanicsville Chapel, Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Virginia YMCA Board or the American Cancer Society.
