ALWARD, A. Jean - Peacefully at LHSC University Campus on Saturday June 6th, 2009, A. 'Jean' Alward (nee Allen), in her 89th year. Beloved wife of 60 years of the late Roy Alward (2000). Predeceased by her son David, parents Edwin and Edith Allen, sisters Pearl and Irene Vicary, brother Robert 'Bob' Allen and great grandson Rowan Fox. Jean is survived by her children Allen (Pat), Ron (Sue), Cheryl (Jim) Fox, and Karen (Joe) Van der Linden, as well as 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dena Allen. She was the last surviving member of her family. Jean loved to garden and tend her flowers. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the ELLIOTT-MADILL Komoka Chapel, (22568 Komoka Rd) on Wednesday June 10th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Animal Aide of St. Thomas would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
