Russel Alexander "Alex" White, 78, of Barberton, Ohio passed away March 29, 1945 at Barberton Citizens Hospital.

He was born July 20, 1866 in Grant, Jackson, West Virginia, son of the late John Jackson & Nancy Mirah (Snodgrass) White.

Mr. White worked his early years as a cook on the Ohio River Steamboat "Queen". Later he entered the carpentry business and built houses. He lived with his wife, Martha in Tyler & New Cumberland, West Virginia. Later they moved to East Liverpool, Ohio and then eventually to 544 Hopocan Ave, Barberton, Ohio where he worked as a carpenter in the "Magic City". Upon retirement in 1926 he operated the Barberton Y.M.C.A. cafeteria.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Pricilla (Powell) White, who passed away December 5, 1942. They were married July 23, 1891. Also deceased is one sister Meda Brown and half-sister, Mary Francis Flinn; four brothers, David, Ira, George, & Charles Alfred White, and one half-brother Wilmer White.

He is survived by two sons, Harry (Edith) of Barberton, Paul (Della) of Wadsworth; one daughter, Lena Myrtle (Earl) Lindeman of Norton; five grandchildren, Jack, Martha, Betty, Earl, & Paul; three sisters, Marietta Powell, Mary Buckly, & Martha Wells; four brothers, John Ellsworth, Philip, James Jackson, & Clark Asbury White.

Burial at Lakewood Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
