Minnie Lavada Morris was born September 7, 1871, in Fulton Co., Illinois. She departed this life in Hanford, California, April 29, 1957, at the age of 85 years, 7 months, 22 days. The family came to Kansas when she was 7 years old [1878] and settled in the Harmony neighborhood. Here she was united in marriage to Charles CLEMMER on December 24, 1893. This union was blessed by seven children. Survived by daus Mrs. Hattie Rutledge and Mrs. Mary Brickey both of Hanford, Calif; sons James and Byron, both of Emporia; dau Mrs. Sadie Payne of Bellflower, Calif.; dau Mrs. Ava Swarner of Wendell, Idaho; and son William A. Clemmer of Jacksonville, Oregon; one brother, George J. Morris of Lakeside, Calif.; 19 grandchldren, and 40 great grandchldren. Mr. Clemmer died in 1934. Mrs. Clemmer was a member of the Lena Valley Methodist Church and never moved her membership elsewhere. She had lived in Hanford the past 18 years and visited here in the summer of 1956. Funeral services were held at the Lena Valley Methodist Church on Friday afternoon, May 3, conducted by Rev. Wright M. Horton of Hartford. The body was laid to rest in the Lena Valley Cemetery beside that of her husband.
