Gwendolyn May Norman Boese, 68, died Aug. 30 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born Aug. 30, 1931, at Burkette, the daughter of Edward and Mary Mildred Ehret Norman. She married Wilbert Boese June 15, 1949, at Larned. A resident of Susank for most of life, coming from Burdette, she was former owner of Susank Tavern.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Dennis L. Boese of Great Bend and David L. Boese of Susank; one daughter, Diana L. Wilson of Susank; one sister, Betty Shinkle of Wichita; 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Edward Norman; two sisters, Juanita Norman and Lynda Norman; and two grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Browns Grove Cemetery in Burdette with the Rev. Don Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.
