DEATH OF GEORGE W. MATSON
George W. Matson, one of the best known citizens of Ellettsville, died Friday, the result of cancer of the throat. He had been a sufferer for some time and about two weeks ago went to Louisville to have an operation performed by Dr. Cheatam. The doctor made an examination and found it too late to do any good. Mr. Matson returned home at once and grew rapidly worse until his death. He had suffered from the disease for almost two years but had worked most of the time. Mr. Matson was a leading citizen of that section, a soldier, and a member of the G. A. R. He was a stone quarryman and for years had worked for Matthews Bros. and was one of their best men. He was 60 years old and leaves a family.
