The son of John G. and Sarah Jasper Dye, he was born near Hogue, Ky., in 1865. He graduated from Barnes Medical College in 1904, and until his retirement at Waynesburg in 1948, he practiced in several counties in this area of the state.
Dr. Dye married Lola McLin August 19, 1897, and eight children were born to this union. Three children preceded him in death.
Dr. Dye is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. O.S. McClure, Cincinnati, Mrs. Herbert Cadwell, Los Angeles, California; three sons, Cecil Dye, Detroit, John K. Dye, McMinnville, Tenn., and Major Thomas E.Dye, Arlington, Va.; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Double Springs Baptist Church in Waynesburg. Burial was in Double Springs cemetery.
