Elizabeth was a daughter of Johan Frederick Hoke and Katherine Hafer. She married Daniel Rowe (1801-1878) on 17 Feb. 1825, in Lincoln Co., NC. They had four sons who served in the Confederate Army, and two died in the War. Their children were: Marcus M. Rowe (1825-1892, m. 1st. Salina Cloninger, 2nd. Jane Bridges), Noah Isaiah Rowe, CSA (1828-1914, m. Camilla Smith). Catherine Malinda Rowe (1831-1888, m. Silas Wike), Harriet L. Rowe (c.1833-?), Major David Pinkney Rowe, CSA (1836-1863), Corp. Sidney Hoke Rowe, CSA (1838-1864), Daniel Lafayette Rowe, CSA (1842-1897, m. Alice Bost), Rebecca E. Rowe (c. 1844-?) and Marion Julius Rowe (1849-1915, m. Camilla Herman).
