Campobello, SC - Leslie Edgar "Eddie Skinner, died at his residence in the Motlow Creek Section of Upper Spartanburg County, SC, on Friday, May 18, 1936, following declining health of four years. He was a prominent farmer of the Motlow Creek Section. Services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, May 23, 1936 at 2 o'clock in the Motlow Creek Baptist Church, with the Revs. Paul Mabry, pastor, and W.Y. Henderson, pastor of Applache Baptist Church, and A. P. Jones, pastor of the Whitney Baptist Church. Interment will be in the adjoining Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Troy Skinner, Smiley Skinner, Homer Skinner, and Andrew Skinner, nephews, and Hulon Nodine and Preston Atkins, grandsons. Honorary pallbearers: J. C. Caldwell, J. H. Mills, Ben Gramling, A. M. Fulbright and the deacons of the Motlow Creek Baptist Church. The honorary escort will meet at the church at 2 p.m. Flower girls: Connie Nodine, Frances Atkins, Jean Atkins, Margaret Atkins, Hazel Ramey and Corrie Skinner. The body will be at the residence after 11 a. m. tomorrow. Mr. Skinner was born and reared in Spartanburg County, SC. He was an active member of the Motlow Creek Baptist Church as long as his health permitted and a member of the Gowansville Woodmen of the World Camp for 20 years. Survivors included: his wife, Mrs. Nancy Underwood Skinner; three sons, Grady Skinner, of Fingerville, SC, Brooks and Lloyd Skinner of Campobello, SC Route #2; four daughters, Mrs. Paul Ramey, of Campobello, SC, Route #2, Misses Annie Lee and Lida Mae Skinner, of Campobello, SC Route #2, and Mrs. Boyd Nodine, of Taylors, SC; two brothers, Robert Skinner of Campobello, SC Route #2 and Virgil Skinner, of Wellford, SC Route #1; and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Henderson, of Greer, SC; and 13 grandchildren. He was 67 years, 10 months, and two days of age at his demise and interment was in the Motlow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
