[VERT] E. BEARD DIES AT AGE 88.
Special to the Journal.
ARCADIA - [Vert] E. Beard, 88, died yesterday afternoon in his home after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the Alabama Baptist Church. The Rev. James Gray will officiate. Burial will be in the Alabama Cemetery under the direction of Conger's Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Ralph Beard of Arcadia; one daughter, Mrs. Morris Murphy of Arcadia; one sister, Mrs. William Rogers of Arcadia; and seven grandchildren.
