He was born near Apple Creek on April 6, 1920, the son of the late Daniel and Edna (Amstutz) Nussbaum. He was united in marriage to Mary Ebersole on October 21, 1943 in Rittman, Ohio.
Aaron was a farmer and worked on farms until 1955. He also worked at the former Orrville Tile Company for 17 years and Kinney Lumber Company for 17 years, retiring in 1998.
He attended WSC after his retirement and knotted comforters for WSC and MCC Connections. He was a member of Crown Hill Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he is survived by sons, David (Eldina) Nussbaum of Orrville, Paul Nussbaum of Rittman, Samuel (Maggie) Nussbaum of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Earl (Ruth Ann) Nussbaum of Denver, Pennsylvania, Nathan Nussbaum of Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, and John (Lisa) Nussbaum of Goshen, Indiana: daughters, Esther (David) Walthour of Millersburg, Pennsylvania, Ruth Suter of Harrionsburg, Virginia, Lois (Bob) Bixler of Hannibal, Missouri, and Rose Mary (Jeff) Hackman of Landsdale, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kelly), Karla, Rob (Patty), Rachel, Chris, Steve, Ben (Jodi), Jacob(Jacque), Hans, Colleen, Erik, Rodney (Tara) and David Nussbaum, Cindy (Jason) Minnich, Michelle (Mark) Wadel, Cory, Shawn, Rachel, Rebecca and Bethany Sutter, Joshua and Grace Bixler, Daniel, Hannah and Heidi Hackman; step-grandchildren, Kate (Serkan) Akar and Bart Skiba; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; brother, John Nussbaum of Dalton; sisters, Ella Horst and Anna Marie Hofsteter, both of Kidron, and Lydia Geiser of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
