Hi, John Gilmore is my 3x great grandfather. I agree with your information that his father was William and his mother's maiden name was Hall.

I'm curious, however, where you obtained the information about his wife and children?

According to historical and family records I have found, John's wife was Margret (unknown last name). His children were Benjamin, Alexander, Margaret J., James L., and Reuben Anderson, Sr. (my 2x great grandfather; Memorial #14429938) who married Sarah Jane Toler (Memorial #14429944).

Any help you can offer in deciphering this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Tambi Gilmore

My response to this is John Gilmore, having been born in 1804, was probably married twice. However, I can only prove that he was married to Catherine Whetsell and had the following children. He was living with his father in the 1850 census, which may prove that he was widowed, with grown children. Some further investigation will need to be conducted.
